The Förderverein Digital Farming e.V. aka Friends of Digital Farming was founded in 2019. The association was founded to further develop the topic of interoperability from the point of view of agricultural productivity. The association offers farmers and stakeholders in the agricultural and food industry a non-profit and cross-competitive platform to develop and discuss (data) solutions. The association aims to contribute to the digital transformation of the agricultural and food industry. To this end, we support the Chair of Digital Farming at the RPTU Kaiserslautern.
For us, Better burger & Beer means that we not only keep an eye on productivity, e.g. of the grain harvest or milk volume, but also want to make the associated environmental performance “better”. For us, the visualized database symbolizes we want to know that both yield and sustainability performance are backed up with data. The QR code stands for the possibilities of sharing data easily, securely and efficiently. Thanksgiving with its agricultural products and food symbolizes the spectrum of cultures in Europe.
Know-how is the key to implementing sustainable, digital agriculture. That’s why the association has a special focus on promoting young talent: From our point of view, the first step towards the future is the training of future innovators in the digital world. That is why the Friends are financing the Chair of Digital Farming at the RPTU Kaiserslautern in Landau.
The megatrends of digitization and sustainability affect us all. However, we can only achieve the goal of digitalized sustainable agriculture together.
